God’s Timing is PERFECT!
So every pastor I know says the same thing: Sunday afternoon through Monday is rough. The enemy plays lots of games in our heads. And this social isolation makes it so much easier for him to mess with my mind. I have been teaching for almost 30 years and, as a teacher, I take cues from my ‘students.’ We used to call that, ‘monitor and adjust...’ back in the day. But how can I do that when I cannot even see them? All I see is a camera when I share God’s Word on Sundays.
All that to say, I awoke this morning with a HUGE CASE of the “I’m not even making a difference anyway. I ought to just tap-out and try to find something else to do for God.” I know when it is happening that it is the enemy at work! Doubt and discouragement are his strongest weapons against your pastor. He had even given me a WORD in my D-Group Bible Reading Plan that morning:
Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. — 2 Timothy 4:2
Even still, I could not shake it! The feeling is real and powerful and hung with me all day.
AND THEN THIS HAPPENED.
Is God’s timing PERFECT or what??? He is still on the throne!
