Ways to Practice the One-Anothers

A message from Pastor Jeff, Elder/Administrative Pastor

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Greetings Cornerstone FRamily, I trust that you are all well if not a little stir-crazy in these crazy times. God is still on His Throne and still sovereign over all, including a virus. Please know that along with the rest of the leadership team, Tina and I are praying for each of you.

If you are like me, it is hard to believe that it has only been 3 weeks since we were all able to gather together in one place. Seems like it has been months! I’m sure you have all become experts at finding ways to stay connected at this time. Here are a few of my favorites right now:

Talking with someone, one-on-one over the phone, has been very helpful. Allows you to pray for and encourage each other. (Don’t worry if you get their voice mail, pray for them in your message – I know they will be encouraged)

There are many open areas where you can sit face-to-face (six feet apart of course) with someone. I have done this numerous times since all this crazy time started. Sometimes we get take-out and enjoy fellowship and a meal together while encouraging and praying for each other. Sometimes, we simple grab a drink and do the same. Either way we get some great time together.

And this one became my favorite this weekend. Another family from Cornerstone invited Tina and me to join them for the “music and message” and because it was a 1st Sunday Fellowship day, we had a meal together afterwards. It was still a small gathering and we could sit apart, but just being able to be together with another family was a HUGE BLESSING and ENCOURAGEMENT to Tina and me. I realize that some of you have large families, and some VERY large families, but you may be surprised to know that 50 percent (half) of the “families” that call Cornerstone home have 1 - 2 people. There may be some right in your neighborhood that could group together for this Resurrection Sunday.

Also, Tina has been able to continue to meet one-on-one with ladies in our house. When she does, they are both blessed immensely.

However you do it, just stay connected, don’t let isolation win. And as Pastor Doug says, “Keep looking up” and also keep looking forward to the day we are all worshiping together again.

Miss you all very much. Much love to all. Pastor Jeff and Tina
