Greetings CrossTrain family! We’ve been tremendously encouraged to see the response everyone has had in the last two weeks with our opportunity to provide for moms in need through Choices. God is using all of us to bless a vulnerable group of women. May we remind you what Jesus has told us regarding providing for the needs of believers: that whatever we do for the least of these, we do it for Him. Let’s keep it up. We’ve still got two more weeks to go!
We are here again with our next family memory verse and we are excited to be in such an encouraging portion of our process. We hope our families and all individuals continue to learn these scriptures so that we can have these truths stored in our hearts. And as we heard this Sunday, we hope that we may always be prepared to give a defense for our hope in Christ. We are COMMANDED to do this! Our children are growing in a world that wants to declare that there is no absolute truth, that all truth is relative. Our response should always be, “is that statement absolutely true???”. Our children are bombarded with a secular, universalist world view that insists that there are endless ways to heaven; endless ways to eternal life. The lie is being pushed that all they need to do is be a good person. As christians, it’s our responsibility to pour into our children the true, biblical world view that there is real eternal truth. It is found in Jesus alone and His word alone, and this truth alone offers eternal life!
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6
Why this verse: Jesus plainly tells us how we can be saved unto eternal life. This is what the world needs to know! Yet, it is against everything the world teaches and the idea is even repulsive! Yet, as we’ll soon discuss, this good news is the power of God to those who are being saved. Jesus makes it abundantly clear that there is such thing as truth, it’s found in Him alone, and this truth alone leads to eternal life! Because Jesus declared that He is the one true God and proved it through rising from the grave, there is no one’s word that we can trust more than His. May we all cling to Him alone and be bold to tell others about him.
Questions John 14:6 can answer:
Is there such thing as truth?
How many ways are there to heaven?
Through whom can we have eternal life?
To quote Spurgeon, “To a great extent we find that we must sow in tears before we can reap in joy.” The effort to learn God’s word and teach it to others, namely our children, is often difficult and we must make sacrifices. It is only through the toil that we can see the harvest. But praise God that are most blessed, as God himself lives in us through his Spirit and guides us through His written word into all truth to bring others into the fold. We have his Spirit, we have His Word, we have Him. What else do we need? We pray we would all be given the capacity and strength to learn His word and share it with others. We also pray that God would continue to use us to bless young, expecting mothers with what they need physically and spiritually. May God alone be glorified in the efforts and we pray that many would be granted faith and repentance in Jesus. Remember church, GOD SAVES SINNERS, even us and even the little sinners we raise. Until next time, may God richly bless you by the grace and mercy won by Jesus Christ!
In Christ,
Adam and Audra Griffin
