God's LOVE sets us FREE!

Greetings CrossTrain family, and Happy Independence Day/Week! As great as it is that we have freedom in this country, it doesn’t begin to compare to the freedom we have in Jesus Christ. In Colossians, God tells us that “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” We have already been delivered from our sins and are in His kingdom if our faith is in Him; there is NO MORE deliverance to be had. It. Is. Finished. And we are free. May we keep this in mind this week as we dive with our families into our next family memorization verse and begin to teach our families how and why God chose to save us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Why this verse: God reveals to us here just how much He loves each one of us. It’s incomprehensible, but the God who spoke creation into existence, who holds all things together, who alone decrees all things and reigns sovereignly… this God chose to send His only Son into the world to fulfill the law perfectly as only He could. This Son then willingly died taking the wrath we deserve. He did this because He loves YOU. And God reveals that all who believe in Him alone will not die, but will live forever!

Questions John 3:16 can answer:

  1. How do you know God loves you?

  2. How can you live forever with God?

  3. Why did God send Jesus into the world?

Loved ones, this is why we are Christians. Because God loves us, he has saved us. He has done every ounce of the work needed. May we all be bold as we teach our families and tell our neighbors the good news of Jesus Christ and how they can have true freedom by being delivered once and for all from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light through faith in Christ. It’s a freedom that cannot be threatened, for it is given by the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth. It is given us by our God, our Lord, our King… Jesus Christ. Go now and share with boldness, for this God King of ours SAVES SINNERS. Until next time, may God richly bless you by the grace and mercy won by Jesus Christ! In Christ, Adam and Audra Griffin Family Ministries
