A message from Bryan Shields, Security Ministry Leader
But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night. — Nehemiah 4:9
Social distancing, quarantine, isolation, shelter at home, Corona Virus, Covid-19, pandemic, all scary words that permeate our daily conversations and saturate our news feeds.
How do we as followers of Christ handle all the constant bombardment of difficult news? It is important to be cognizant of what our health care professionals and government leaders are telling us must be done in order for all people to be safe.
However, we must not lose sight of the mission we have been called to fulfill. To love God and love people. In spite of all the obstacles God always finds a way to strengthen and encourage his people.
The Bible is filled with stories of God’s people battling against great odds and God’s deliverance at just the right time to fulfill his purpose. Now is no different. The Lord is doing a mighty work in our world today. Reflect on how God is using you today.
God’s Command -
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. — Joshua 1:9
My Response -
Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free. — Psalm 118:5
God’s Promise -
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. — Psalm 118:8
My Response –
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. — Proverbs 3:5
If you are feeling overwhelmed by what is happening, I encourage you to reach out to our church leadership and wives. We are here to assist you in any way we can and sincerely pray for each of you.
Be Safe - Stay strong – Trust in the Lord
