Dear brothers and sisters, let this be our heart-posture! I too feel the fight to just hunker down and ride this thing out. SELF-preservation and SELF-gratification are powerful masters. DON’T LET THEM WIN!
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. — Romans 12.12, 21
We MUST remember that Jesus told us that in this world we would have tribulation, but that we are to take heart because He has overcome the world. (Jn 16.33) So let’s not be surprised, fearful, or even angry at what is happening. Instead lets say, “Of course this is happening. He told us it would. He has purpose and plan in it for our good and His glory!”
Trying to fill the time and distract your mind by binge-watching Netflix or playing Fortnite until your thumbs fall off will very soon rot your soul. Instead, read a book, write a letter, and PRAY. And while you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you creative ways to take advantage of this unique God-orchestrated moment in the life of His people to overcome evil by DOING good. LET’S LOVE OTHERS WELL.
