“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James 5:16
Prayer is the soul’s admission of insufficiency. It is the language of dependence. It is the heart’s cry for help. It is a CONFESSION of NEED.
It reveals: What we think of God. What we think of ourselves. What we think of what God thinks of us. And our willingness to ONGOINGLY CONFESS our sin struggles to GOD, and to ONE ANOTHER, is beautiful evidence that we are living in the grace that is fully and forever ours in Christ Jesus!
John and James make abundantly clear that CONFESSION is the key that clears the channel for His hearing our prayers. If we want rich, ongoing fellowship with the Father,
we better learn to confess our need.
NOT ONLY CAN YOU NOT HIDE ANYTHING FROM GOD...
YOU DON'T NEED TO HIDE ANYTHING FROM HIM!
AND, AS A COMMUNITY OF GRACE, WE NEED NOT HIDE FROM ONE ANOTHER EITHER.
This week as you READ and RESPOND to the Word, PRAY that the Spirit would reveal the things you can seek to bring to others, that they might partner with you in prayer to find spiritual and emotional, and even physical, healing.
